ATM Fees in Thailand
Thai Baht (THB) • Updated April 2026
Thailand charges a fixed ATM fee of 220-250 THB (~$6.50-7.50 USD) on all foreign card withdrawals, regardless of which bank you use. The best strategy is to maximize your withdrawal amount to minimize the per-transaction cost.
Tips for Thailand
- • Withdraw the maximum amount (usually 20,000-30,000 THB) to reduce the impact of the fixed fee
- • Always decline the ATM's currency conversion offer - choose to be charged in THB
- • Krungsri (Yellow) and Bangkok Bank (Blue) usually allow the highest withdrawal limits (up to 30,000 THB), helping you dilute the fixed fee
Airport tips
- • Currency exchange at Suvarnabhumi has poor rates - withdraw cash from ATMs instead
- • Airport taxi and toll fees require cash (around 50-75 THB for tolls)
- • Grab/Bolt drivers may request cash for parking fees when picking up at arrivals
Don't forget your home bank fees
The fees shown above are charged by local ATMs. Your home bank may also charge additional fees for international withdrawals (typically 1-3% + a flat fee). Check with your bank before traveling.
