ATM Fees in Algeria
Algerian Dinar (DZD) β’ Updated April 2026
Algeria has a cash-dominant economy with very limited international card acceptance. ATMs exist in cities but often don't accept foreign cards. Bringing Euros or USD to exchange locally is recommended. Note: The street exchange rate for EUR/USD is significantly higher (often 50%+) than the official bank rate. Using ATMs charges the official rate, making the trip much more expensive than exchanging cash.
Tips for Algeria
- β’ Bring Euros or USD cash to exchange at banks or licensed bureaux
- β’ Most ATMs do not accept foreign Visa/Mastercard
- β’ CIB and AGB banks have better foreign card acceptance
- β’ Parallel market rate is 50%+ higher than official - ATMs use official rate
